Belkin will soon add HomeKit support to their Wemo IoT solutions

Continuing to expand its award-winning Internet of Things ecosystem, Wemo®, the smart home brand from Belkin International, today announced it plans to enable Apple® HomeKit™ compatibility to more than two million Wemo solutions on the market.  With the HomeKit enabled Wemo Bridge, Wemo users will be able to ask Siri® on their iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch - “Siri, turn on Wemo,” or “Siri, dim the living room lights,” or use the Apple Home app on any of these devices.  Users will also be able to include Wemo products into scenes and rooms to work with more than one hundred other HomeKit compatible products and access them while on the go.

Qualcomm announced two new System-on-chips (SoCs) for HomeKit

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), today announced two new System-on-chips (SoCs), the QCA4020 and QCA4024. Qualcomm Technologies is the first to announce a tri-mode SoC QCA4020, integrating Bluetooth® Low Energy 5, Dual-band Wi-Fi®, and 802.15.4-based technologies, including ZigBee® and Thread, while QCA4024 integrates Bluetooth Low Energy 5 and 802.15.4.

Both QCA4020 and QCA4024 deliver advanced features from the Qualcomm® Network IoT Connectivity Platform, including seamless coexistence across technologies with pre-integrated support for HomeKit™ and the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF™) specifications, as well as support for AWS IoT software development kit (SDK) and Microsoft Azure Internet-of-Things (IoT) Devices SDK to connect with Azure IoT Hub.

D-Link Begins Selling Omna 180 HomeKit Camera

D-Link Corporation today announced that the new Omna™ 180 Cam HD (DSH-C310) is available for purchase online today at Apple.com and in Apple stores around the world later this month. The first in D-Link’s Omna family of HomeKit enabled devices, the Omna 180 Cam HD provides an easy way for users to monitor their homes for extra peace of mind.

Omna’s HomeKit integration allows users to be “always home” and includes advanced security features with end-to-end encryption and authentication between the camera and an iPhone or iPad. Apple HomeKit comes to open your LiftMaster garage door
