Insteon Hub Pro and App for iOS 8 HomeKit automation - preorder now!

Homeautomation vendors had to wait 7 years to be part of the iOS ecosystem with Apple’s recent announce of HomeKit. Here’s how Apple describes it to its developers;

HomeKit is a framework in iOS 8 for communicating with and controlling connected accessories in a user’s home. You can enable users to discover HomeKit accessories in their home and configure them, or you can create actions to control those devices. Users can group actions together and trigger them using Siri.

Now enter the development labo of Insteon. Insteon has already over 200 Home-automation products that are controllable via their current Insteon Hub. They’re creating the successor called the Insteon Hub Pro which can be pre-ordered for $150. It’s accompanied by their new Insteon App which you can see in action in the video below.

Apple’s personal voice assistant. With HomeKit, you can create scenarios to direct Siri, such as “Bedtime, Siri,” that would dim the lights, lock the doors, close the garage door and set the thermostat.
