18 June 2007 - Apple’s Bluetooth headset, designed to complement the iPhone, has been given approval by the American FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to go on sale in the US.

Apple announces iPhone now delivers up to 8 hours of talk time, new glass display

Talk about last minute upgrades: In a press release today, Apple has revealed a number of significant upgrades to both the iPhone’s battery life and touch screen.

Instead of what I believe was around 5 hours of video/talk and 16 hours of audio playback, Apple has updated the iPhone’s battery life rating to the following numbers: up to 8 hours talk time, a whopping 250 hours of standby (over 10 days), 6 hours of internet use, 7 hours of video playback and 24 hours of audio playback.

iPhone tempts 7m Brits

Fifty-six per cent of Brits have heard of the iPhone and some 7 million of us are interested in getting one when the device launches in the UK.

Though the iPhone is due to go on sale on 29 June in the US, a UK launch date has yet to be announced and the product might not become available here until next year.

19 Million Americans Interested in Buying iPhone

With the iPhone launch still over a week away, mobile market research firm M:Metrics reports that 19 million Americans have shown strong interest in purchasing the device.

“This data confirms that the iPhone has sparked the imaginations of consumers and is not merely a topic of conversation among insiders and technology enthusiasts,” said Mark Donovan, senior vice president and senior analyst, M:Metrics.
